Everybody is talking about how slow the Goat is, but not how fast the LS is. I drive one, and I have spanked many a Mustang GT, many Harley Davidsons, and many-many Jap fart can imports. The LS is the silent warrior. Strong V-8 engine, 5 gears, 4-wheel independent suspension, rac-and-pinion steering, cool alloys, great tunes, aluminum body parts----Where y'all been?

Hey genius that was music that was playing at the track, not edited into the video.

Yes Mach you are correct that with a few suspension and traction upgrades the GTO's can bring the pain. Heck, look at what Doc GTO and quite a few other guys are putting down for ET's and it is apparent that when properly modded the GTO is no joke. One in stock form or even with DR's usually isn't doing much on the launch though.

rocket! the problem with launching gtos is the factory tires are skinny 255's and low grade bfgs. throw drag bags or drag springs on or mt et street radials on and you're in business. i put down 1.7 60s with the et streets with no wheel hop

I have driven them, which is why I get it. I have seen them driven by others many times at the track too. Just not as impressive as some people believe them to be. They have some ok power but apparently not much ability to put it to the ground.

I have, which is part of why I am commenting. The basis of my making these comments is also rooted in my multiple observations of LS1 and LS2 GTO's at the track running poorer times than expected.

You just need to drive one yourself and then come back and comment. You will GET it :)

I do not know where you got the impression I was talking shit but that is not the case. I just stated what I have seen to be fact in 95% of cases when people take their GTO to the track. A stock LS2 GTO will break 12's, not the LS1 GTO though. The depends on what a person's idea of "stock" is though. The LS is good for 12's now also but it is not stock...The nitrous is off and a single "hairdryer" is on.
