The Subaru Outback is assembled in Lafayette Indiana, USA with 60% of the Parts manufactured @ various Plants around the USA shipped to the Subaru Plant for assembly.
The Drivetrain is manufactured in Japan and shipped to Indiana.

Speaking of looks—Subaru needs to stop stealing Chrysler's ideas and stick instead with their own designers. The front face is not good. It looks like all the other bad designs: too much chromed nonsense, too busy looking. The rest of the car is great.

those scoops are functional!the move air through the intercooler which is on the top of the engine. The air going into the air filter is brought in through a intake through the grille.
