No, but J.K. Rowling DID state in an interview that Sirius was definitely dead after that scenario in the book. This interpretation of the scene in the film merely justifies that in a way we can all understand.

In book 6, Molly was kinda like scolding Sirius that Harry was not James, His best friend and that Harry was still a child.

In the book, it didn't state there that she used the Avada Kedavra curse.

I know Sirius calling Harry 'James' was not in the book, but I think that was a great idea. They haven't really shown in other movies that Sirius and James loved each other as friends, and I think they will refer back to that moment in movie 6 or 7. That's just about the only good thing they brought into this movie. But they stuffed up Sirius' death...the veil was a really complex and philosophical magical object, but we all know the producers only want action..
